DARIA BALUTA
Daria Baluta, a talented visual artist, grew up near Moscow, Russia, under challenging circumstances. Growing up without the guidance of a father and with an often-absent mother, she faced significant adversity during her formative years. Despite these hardships, Daria discovered a sanctuary in her creativity, finding solace in painting, drawing and acting. These artistic outlets provided her with an escape from the difficulties of her environment, allowing her to immerse herself in a world of imagination and self-expression.
In 2008, Daria's journey took her to South Africa, where she found new opportunities to refine her craft. She embraced formal painting lessons and developed a deep love for working with oil paints. Her artistic philosophy is rooted in self-reflection and observation, as she explains: "I paint myself. I also paint what I see." Her art is a manifestation of her inner world, blending themes of escapism, meditation, and the dreamlike states that offer respite from life's challenges.
Daria draws inspiration from the ethereal qualities of nature, particularly clouds and water. Her work often evokes the tranquillity of the ocean, capturing its meditative and dreamlike essence. These elements infuse her paintings with a sense of calm and otherworldliness, inviting viewers to step into her "dreamworld" and experience the serenity she finds in her creative process.
Through her art, Daria Baluta transforms personal struggles into powerful visual narratives. Her work is a testament to the healing power of creativity, offering a glimpse into her journey of resilience and the beauty she finds in life's quiet, introspective moments.
