WORLDART JOHANNESBURG OPENING

On 19 April Worldart will open the doors of its new venue in Johannesburg. The venue will be situated in the Financial District of the city in Johannesburg and will debut with a show by Richard Scott. Much has been said and written about Scott’s work recently with some saying that the minimalism is too simplistic, while others are attracted to the simplicity and poppy boldness of his art. This will be Richard Scott’s first solo show in Johannesburg and with that the first opportunity for many to look at, feel and touch (yes you can) an original artwork of his.

Other shows confirmed for the future are:

Kurt Campbell – 31 May 2007

Gavin Rain – 26 July 2007

Varenka Paschke – 27 September 2007

Arlene Amaler-Raviv – 29 November 2007

Marlise Keith – 27 March 2008

Christiaan Diedericks – September 2010

The city of Johannesburg is architecturally and on many other levels a very special place and with the opening of our second gallery, Worldart hopes to contribute positively to the rejuvenating of the city. The installation of CCTV cameras in Commissioner and surrounding streets, the upgrading of buildings and the commitment from the Johannesburg City Council made it possible for us to move in with confidence and we look forward to hosting our events there.

Address: 95 Commissioner Street (opposite the Rand Club)
