Dimensional Diorama by Faatimah Mohamed-Luke A solo exhibition of new artworks at WORLDART

(54 Church Street, Cape Town) from 1-29 March 2018 In her first solo exhibition with WORLDART, Faatimah Mohamed-Luke presents a new body of work with her signature building block technique.

Dimensional Diorama focuses on the various stages of abstract geometric art. Faatimah creates compositions enveloping simple shapes and repeat patterns. The completed works highlight a moment of dissection and arrangement, as well as the most extreme deconstruction into its simplistic itemised arrangement. These works create a feeling of nostalgia and relevance appreciated by all ages and backgrounds. ‘My fascination with tiny plastic building blocks comes from my love of minute detail and intricate patterns. I discovered the art of tessellation on a recent trip to Morocco. It is my hope to highlight and recreate the art form in a modern way using plastic building blocks.’ Faatimah holds a National Diploma in Fashion from Cape Technikon. She is a founding partner of successful designer brand, adam&eve and has honed her skills, having participated in numerous fashion weeks and international exhibitions for the last 10 years. Two years ago, she resigned from fashion to focus on art and interior design Dimensional Diorama opens on Cape Town’s popular First Thursdays evening on 1 March at 6pm and will
run until 29 March.
