WORLDART10

Featured artworks by last year’s WORLDART10 winners: Elmarie van Straten and Simon Verfaille.

WORLDART is proud to announce the second edition of WORLDART10, its artist competition designed to discover and showcase exciting contemporary talent.

The competition invites artists based in South Africa to submit a portfolio of their best work (in PDF format) along with a short artist bio. From these submissions, ten artists will be selected and awarded the opportunity to gain exposure through WORLDART’s platforms.

The prize includes:

  • Features on WORLDART’s social media and digital platforms

  • Inclusion in WORLDART’s online newsletter and website

  • The possibility of having work exhibited at WORLDART Gallery in Cape Town

WORLDART10 was first launched in 2023. Previous winners include Sichumile Adam, Karen Stewart, Simone Verfaille and Elmarie van Straten, whose works have since gained recognition and exposure through WORLDART’s network of collectors and supporters.

“This competition is about giving artists a platform,” says Charl Bezuidenhout, Director and curator of WORLDART. “For years, WORLDART has built bridges between South African artists and collectors both locally and internationally. WORLDART 10 allows us to open those doors wider and discover fresh, diverse voices in contemporary art.”

How to Enter:
Artists must submit their portfolio (PDF) and bio via email to info@worldart.co.za

Deadline for entries: 31 October 2025

The selected winners will be announced publicly on WORLDART’s digital platforms.
